RAMLAB manufactures marine parts on demand at Europe’s largest port
THE FUTURE OF MAKING THINGS
The Rotterdam Additive Manufacturing Lab (RAMLAB) is pioneering the use of additive manufacturing on demand for the maritime industry. This initiative of the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands is part research lab, part manufacturing plant, with facilities capable of 3D printing metal industrial parts up to 6 meters (19 feet) in size. The RAMLAB team aims to accelerate the adoption of hybrid manufacturing for making large-scale parts on demand and innovate the process of ship repair to keep cargo flowing smoothly through the port.
