The Autodesk Technology Centers exist to create a shared vision of the future of making with a community of innovators and thought leaders. The Residency Program is a vital part of bringing that vision to life.

A diverse community of innovators

The residency program at the Autodesk Technology Centers in Boston, San Francisco, and Toronto provides open workspaces and equipment for teams from industry, academic and startup communities doing forward-looking work in the areas of construction, manufacturing, and emerging technologies.

Benefits of residency

    The residency program is provided free of charge. You only have to pay for materials.

  • Free use of software

    Residents have access to Autodesk software, free of charge. Experts are available in-house when needed.

  • Free use of high-tech machines

    Residents are provided with dedicated project areas and access to advanced fabrication machinery.

Residency program locations

San Francisco

A hub for research, development and demonstration of new manufacturing technologies, the technology center in San Francisco is also exploring processes relating to the concept of configurable microfactories.

Boston

A research and development workspace, the technology center in Boston is where startups, colleges and universities, and industry experts explore ways to advance the building industry.

Toronto

Based out of the MaRS Discovery District, this center explores technologies to help us design and make in previously unimaginable ways. It is home to advanced research in areas such as machine learning, generative design, and artificial intelligence.

Become a resident team

Residency proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis, and selected participants are provided with dedicated project areas in a technology center, access to advanced fabrication machinery, training, and connections to industry experts and the technology center community. The program can be tailored to meet team goals and availability. Residencies can last anywhere from two weeks to a year or more.
